Hello, my name is Esther. I am a 5-6 year old Staffordshire Bull Terrier female. I came into the care of Safe and Sound after being found abandoned on the streets of Lancashire. I am very sweet, lively lady with a fun and playful temperament. I may be middle aged, but I have an infectious enthusiasm for life and a real spring in my step! Why walk, when you can bounce? My favourite thing is my ball - I just love to chase it! Don't worry though, while I am a busy girl, I LOVE affection and will always find time in my schedule to snuggle into you and have a cuddle. On walks, I am well behaved but I do pull a little on my lead, so we would need to work on this together. Around other dogs, I am quite cautious and can be nervous, so I am looking for a family who will build up my confidence around other dogs very gradually, so I am not so worried when I see them. I would like to live with someone who has owned dogs before and who has researched my breed type. My ideal home is one where my busy mind will be stimulated. I would suit an active family where I can join in with activities and then crash out on the sofa afterwards. I am looking for a home where I am the only dog. I wouldn’t be suitable to live with cats. I may be able to live with sensible children from 12 years of age and upwards. I have some training in place, but will need my fosterers to continue my basic training and help me to learn my doggie manners. I am rather strong on a lead, so will need some loose lead practice. My foster carers will be asked to take me to training classes (funded by Safe and Sound). If you’re interested in fostering me and are prepared for the hard work and commitment involved, please complete an application form: Esther x Weight: 19.5kgs Arrived: October 2013 |
